Parking is close-by and on nicely-drained gravel.

This is a small fun shoot that happens once a year, hosted by the Lake Fork Cowboys [not an official SASS™ club].
It’s a great venue for newer shooters and gives experienced shooters the chance to shoot different types of targets, including some flying clays.  It’s also a great chance to introduce non-Cowboy shooters to Cowboy Action Shooting [CAS].
Cowboy shooters, we ask that you please wear your cowboy/cowgirl garb.
Spectators and guests are welcome.  Ear protection & eye protection are required.
The range has a porta-potty but no running water.  There is a grocery store, fuel, and restaurants in the town of Atwood.

It’s bound to be a fun and entertaining match with lots of  “toys” according to Ross Haney, one of the founders.

“We’ve done this now for the past 3 or 4 years and have gotten some great shooters from it so we’re doing it again this year.  Start time is approximately 10:30 am on the ranges where we shoot our matches.”

This is for new cowboy shooters (not people who have never shot a gun before) who might be a little leary of coming out to a shoot – this allows them to get their ‘feet wet’ so to speak and learn the rules of the game and shoot a stage or two.  There is no charge for this clinic and we will supply guns and ammo if they don’t already have their own.  Please let anyone you know who might be interested know about this clinic – it’s a great opportunity!!”

According to Miss Weev, “This weekend they are predicting a high of around 40, with sunshine. While it will still be cold in the morning, we are going to hold a match at Litchfield on Saturday, the 27th.  All of you that can’t wait another minute, please join us. Desserts as usual. Don’t forget to bring lunch.   Hope to see you there!”

Last week’s shoot at Litchfield was cancelled due to weather, although they had a roaring good time at their Annual Awards Banquet that afternoon.

The Litchfield Cowboys invite you to participate in an outdoor shoot on February 20, 2010 followed by the Annual Awards Banquet at Maverick’s Restaurant in Litchfield.

Please reserve your spot by contacting Miss Weev or Montana Di by February 15, 2010.  Spouses, significant others, and guests are very welcome.

The Litchfield Cowboys Annual Banquet will take place after the match  at 2:00 p.m.   Entrees are in the range of $7 – $8.  Each person is responsible for his/her own meal and tip at Maverick’s Restaurant.
