It turned out to be a lovely early autumn day for our September Cowboys Match after the fog lifted, but apparently not in time for many of our 34 shooters as we had only 4 clean shooters.
We were happy to welcome a guest from way out west, Sheriff J.R. Quigley.
In other news, we enjoyed a terrific lunch of chili and grilled sirloin burgers served by the Lefthander’s Gun Club and we’re happy to report that the cowboy who “lost” his wedding ring has been reunited with it, so marital counseling is averted. However, we did end up with a 1/2 box of larger caliber rounds that someone may want. Identify and ask for them at the registration table at the next match.
September 2011 Scores are posted
We hope you can join us outdoors in October on the Fourth Sunday, October 23rd, 2011 for the Viper Halloween Treat Stages.
[Sadly, Turquoise Tony won’t be with us in October for his infamous “Monster Stages” and ’97 Challenge.].
We’ll also have a special not-so-long-range Deuce is Wild pistol-caliber lever action rifle side match before the main match so bring a couple of dollar bills for that one…
Prizes awarded at the end of the day.
Wild Bunch Only
On Sunday, October 30th, we’re hosting our 3rd Wild Bunch Only Match.
Join us if you can. We invoke local rules that allow your regular pistol caliber lever-action rifle [e.g. you don’t have to own a .40 caliber or larger rifle for our local Wild Bunch match]. For those of you unfamiliar with Wild Bunch who would like to join us, please read and understand the SASS Wild Bunch regulations for this event before the match.
This is a 4-stage match requiring up to 4 magazines per stage for the 1911. We will set up at 8:00 a.m. with everyone’s help, then start the Shooter’s Meeting at 9 a.m. and are done by noon. Stages are usually posted ahead of time. There is no lunch offered. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Match Directors are Don Jorge and Turquoise Tony
